Jane May Counselling
I know how important it is that you and I can work together and form that all important healthy therapeutic relationship. To help you get a sense of who I am, I’d describe myself as open, warm, tolerant and kind. I meet everyone with the same grounded outlook, creating a space where you can feel relaxed, understood and safe.
Originally from Yorkshire, I like to think I bring an honest, down to earth attitude to my work. Years of my own life experience have shaped me into someone calm, steady and accepting. My background spans the military, emergency services and pastoral roles in schools. Throughout all of it, I’ve been drawn to supporting people in crisis or in navigating the aftermath of trauma.
Now as an experienced trauma counsellor, I work with a domestic abuse agency, in schools and with private clients, supporting both adults and children. I know what it’s like to have your life shaken by events you can’t control. I am passionate about fostering change and healing, and it’s a privilege to support my clients as they find their way forward.
